Import Duties and Fees –

·         The import duty is calculated based on weight
·         Addition to duty Goods are subject to sales tax (VAT), which is calculated on the sum of the cost of goods, insurance, freight and any applicable duty (CIFD)
·         Duty rates vary based on the weight however certain goods are exempted from duty.
·         VAT will be applicable at a rate of 8% on the sum of the CIFD with certain goods attracting reduced rates
·         Duty is not charged if duty payable does not exceed CHF5.00 
·         VAT is not charged if VAT payable does not exceed CHF5.00
·         Excise duty is payable on tobacco and alcohol
